Bring your links with you
Saves imports a whole file of links in one go. Folders in the file come along, and links you already saved are skipped, so importing the same file twice is safe. First export your links from the app you are leaving, then import the file on your iPhone.
From Raindrop
- Open app.raindrop.io in a browser. Raindrop's export is on the web; Safari on your iPhone works too.
- Go to Settings, then Backups, and choose Create new.
- When Raindrop emails you, download the CSV or HTML file from the same page.
For one collection only, open it and choose Export, then CSV or HTML. Collections become folders in Saves.
From Safari
- On your iPhone, open the Settings app, tap Apps, then Safari.
- Below History and Website Data, tap Export, choose Bookmarks, then Save to Downloads.
- In the Files app, open Downloads and tap the zip to expand it. The bookmarks HTML file inside is the one to import.
On a Mac, choose File, then Export Browsing Data to File in Safari, select Bookmarks and click Download. Bookmark folders become folders in Saves; the Reading List and Favorites land in your Inbox.
From Chrome
Chrome exports bookmarks from a computer, not from the iPhone app.
- In Chrome, open the menu (the three dots), then Bookmarks and lists, then Bookmark manager.
- Open the Bookmark manager's own menu at the top and choose Export bookmarks.
- Send the HTML file to your iPhone with AirDrop, iCloud Drive or email, and save it to Files.
From Instagram
- In Instagram, open your profile and the menu, then Accounts Center (on some phones, Meta Account).
- Tap Your information and permissions, then Export your information, then Create export, and pick your Instagram profile.
- Choose Export to device. Pick only your saved posts as the information, All time as the date range and JSON as the format, then start the export.
- Instagram emails you when the file is ready, which can take a while. Download it from the same place; the download stays there for 4 days.
- In the Files app, tap the zip to expand it. saved_posts.json is inside, in a folder named saved.
Instagram's file holds the links and who posted them, not the captions or videos. After the import, Saves fetches each post's title and picture, a few at a time, so they fill in over the next minutes.
From Pocket
Pocket shut down in July 2025, and its export has closed since. If you downloaded your Pocket export before then, expand the zip and import the CSV file inside.
Then, in Saves
- Open Saves and tap your avatar to open Settings.
- Tap Import links, then Choose a file, and pick the file.
- Saves shows its progress, then how many links it imported and how many were already there.
Links that came in a folder go to your folder of the same name, or to a new one; never into a folder you share. The rest land in your Inbox. With Sorting with Claude on, Claude files them: 30 links a month for free, or all of them with Saves Pro.
